I helped developed and sustain training and mentorship business with Bonanza Studios
People want to get in-field experience, but no one wants to hire them without it. It was something like chicken and egg problem. Through 20+ interviews and over 200+ survey responses the most helpful was actually thing that wasn't mention
We decided not to maximize practial training, instead of focusing on theory, through providing enough examples for the students to conduct daily redesign challenges and attending weekly mentorship sessions.
๐๏ธ Problem discovery: We've conducted over 30 user interviews, and got 100+ survey responses. Main thing we wanted to achieve, was to make sure we understand a problem that designers are facing
๐บ๏ธ Affinity mapping It took some time, but I've managed to sort group and analyze results, that allowed me to define the problem
โ Defining solution: We've conducted several brainstorming workshops to align on the initial idea
๐ Creating course program & plan: I've defined the syllabus, created all lessons and neccessary files for the training
๐ป Development & pricing: Final, and probably the easiest part was to design, and develop the entire website for the project. At this point we also defined clear pricing
โ Daily reports: To make sure we are on the same page, I offered daily summaries of my work with the plan for upcoming days
โ Internal catchups: As I lead the project, I touch based with my team on a daily basis, to ensure we are on the same page
โ Clean environment Because whole Bonanza team was involved, I needed to make sure that environment is well-organized and clear for everyone
The most challenging part, was not coming up with solution, but actually spending enough time on investigating the problem.
We've created affinity mapping, and grouped all of the findings, to properly state the problem and make sure that we are on the right track of creating a sustainable business.
